Learn Safety

With Retro Bill
- Vanesa Mateu

With after-school sports, video games, homework assignments, and cartoons all competing for your child’s attention, how do you find a way to teach your child how to be aware and safe in his everyday surroundings?  Big hair, a leopard print shirt, and the zany antics of Retro Bill should do the trick.

The new D.A.R.E. Safety Tips video starring Retro Bill will surely zap some fun into safety education. Actor, writer, producer, and director (whew!) Bill Russ created the videos for the D.A.R.E. program after the media criticized the organization for losing children’s attention.  In an effort to do his part, Russ donated the videos to D.A.R.E. and now makes appearances at educational engagements along with D.A.R.E. officers.  Not only will the videos be shown in over 350,000 classrooms, but they will also be available in retail stores and at www.retrobill.com for $12.98 so that parents can be involved in safety instruction at home.

With his colorful outfits and outrageous personality Retro Bill educates children while entertaining them.  And parents love him as well.  Steven Spielberg, Larry King, and Jay Leno have all praised the videos for their exciting and fresh approach to safety training.  The fast-paced imagery, wacjy sound effects, and colorful settings are sure to grab any child’s attention and make the learning experience fun.  More importantly, the videos teach valuable lessons such as “Who can you call in case of an emergency?” and “When are drugs helpful or harmful?”

The new safety videos and school appearances are sure to help Retro Bill meet his mission- to make everywhere he goes a better place because he was there!
